Takeoff shudder. Notchy engagement. A transmission everyone told you to replace. Most DPS6 problems trace to a handful of known failure points — and most of them are fixable in your driveway. Start with the trouble code.
Shudder from a stop. The car bucks or vibrates as the clutch engages, worst on hills and when hot. Classic dry fork pivot or worn clutch — the code tells you which.
Grinding or notchy shifts. Hesitation between 1st and 2nd, hard downshift clunks. Often a fork or actuator issue, not the clutch pack itself.
"Transmission fault" warning. Wrench light, limp mode, no-start after heat soak. Frequently the TCM — a known failure with a known fix.
